Adding Dealership Hours and Address Without Sounding Like Spam
Buyers need to know where you are and when you are open. Put hours and address in the listing once, in plain language, without turning every vehicle into a store advertisement.
A serious buyer is willing to drive. They are not willing to decode a listing that opens with your mission statement, three phone numbers, a map to a different rooftop, and hours that still say you close at 6 when the used-car desk locked the door at 5. They message "where are you?" because the address is missing, buried, or contradicted by the Marketplace location pin. Adding dealership hours and address without sounding like spam is a logistics problem, not a branding problem.
Marketplace already has a location on the listing. Your description should support that pin with a short, accurate block: city, how to find the used-car desk, when a human will answer. It should not repeat your entire Google Business profile under every VIN.
This guide is for multi-rooftop groups and single lots that keep getting "are you the one on Main or the one on the bypass?" It covers where hours and address belong, which contact details to leave out of the body, how to handle lots versus stores, and how to keep the block from turning eighty listings into clones of a brochure.
Why Adding Dealership Hours and Address Without Sounding Like Spam Is Hard
Spam, in this context, is not only policy language. It is anything that makes the listing look like an ad for the store instead of an ad for the car. Buyers bounce. Integrity systems see repeated dense contact blocks. Neither helps you.
The usual failure modes
- Brochure first. Store name, slogan, financing banner, then eventually the vehicle.
- Contact stuffing. Phone, second phone, email, website, "text this number," hours for sales, service, and parts.
- Wrong rooftop. Description says 1200 Main; the pin is the group's other store; the photos are the bypass lot.
- Stale hours. Holiday hours, a desk that closes earlier than new-car sales, Saturday-by-appointment that nobody staffs.
- Address as SEO. Repeating city names and cross streets for search rather than for a driver.
Check Meta's current commerce and Marketplace rules for contact information in listings. Do not treat any example here as a numeric policy limit. Practically, keep contact simple and consistent with the location field.
Location field versus description
The Marketplace location is the first filter buyers apply. If the pin is wrong, no amount of elegant hours copy will put you in the right radius. Fix the pin first. Then add a human-readable line for people who will navigate from the description. For how location and radius actually work for dealers, see location settings and search radius.
A Logistics Block That Fits on a Phone
Hours and address belong near the end, after the vehicle has been described. They are not the opener. The opener is identity and mileage; see the first two lines of a Marketplace vehicle description.
The four-line maximum
- City and a landmark or street that a local would recognize.
- "Used-car desk" or the door you actually want them to use (not service drive-through).
- Hours a buyer can see a car, not the corporation's full week.
- How to confirm before they drive (message here).
Illustrative block (customize; do not clone the landmark):
- "On the lot in [City], used-car building facing [street]."
- "Come to the used-car desk and ask for stock [number]."
- "Typical viewing: [days and hours that are true this week]."
- "Message before you leave so we can pull it up if it is in the booth."
That is logistics. It is not a brand anthem.
Address granularity
You need enough for a mapping app. You do not need a formatted business-card dump.
- Include street address if your pin is easy to miss (industrial parks, shared driveways, two lots on one road).
- City plus a named desk may be enough if the pin is exact and the rooftop is obvious.
- Do not list a PO box.
- Do not list a home address for a dealership sale.
- If the car is at a secondary lot, say which lot. "We have two locations" without saying which one is holding the keys is how people visit the wrong store.
Hours that will not embarrass you on Saturday
Write the hours the used-car desk can produce a key, not the hours the service writer is in the building.
- If Saturday is appointment-only, say so.
- If the desk closes earlier than showroom hours, use the earlier time.
- If a holiday is coming, update the block or omit hours and say "message for today's hours."
- Do not post 9–9 if the last showing you will honor is 5:30.
Stale hours are worse than omitted hours. A buyer who arrives to a dark lot will not reread your feature list.
Adding Dealership Hours and Address Without Sounding Like Spam: Contact Hygiene
The spam smell is usually extra contact paths, not the existence of an address.
Keep in the listing
- City
- Street if needed for navigation
- Used-car desk hours that are true
- Instruction to message on Marketplace
- Stock number in the CTA (call-to-action lines for Marketplace vehicle listings)
Keep out of the description body
- Multiple phone numbers
- "Text me at" personal cells
- Email addresses
- Website URLs unless you have a specific, allowed reason and current policy allows it
- QR codes described in text
- Financing hotlines
- "Like our page"
The listing fields and your Marketplace profile already carry business identity. Repeating a lead-gen kit in every description is how you look like a scraper.
Multi-rooftop groups
Give each inventory source a logistics block that matches the pin for that source. Do not use a group footer that lists four addresses. The buyer has one car and one tank of gas.
If a unit moves from store A to store B, change the pin and the block in the same edit. A remaining "see us on Main Street" line on a bypass-lot car is a complaint.
Keep the Block Consistent Without Cloning the Whole Listing
A shared logistics closer is acceptable. A shared entire description is not.
What may be identical across units
- The hours sentence, if it is true for the whole used-car desk
- The door to walk through
- "Message before you come"
What must stay unique
- Stock number
- Whether this VIN is at the main lot, recon, or a satellite row
- Any unit-specific viewing constraint ("in the booth until Thursday")
If recon status changes, the hours block is not enough. You also need the availability sentence in the opener. See how to word a listing for a unit still in recon.
Audit once a month
- Pin matches the description's city and street.
- Hours match the desk, including Saturday.
- No extra phone numbers drifted back in from an old template.
- Satellite-lot units name the satellite lot.
- Holiday hours were not left over from last month.
- Sold units are archived so the address block is not advertising a car that left.
Assign the audit to a manager, not to whoever happens to post on Monday. Hours are a store fact. They should not depend on which associate wrote the listing.
How PostToMarket Automates This
Hours-and-address spam appears when a CSV import carries a 200-word dealer footer onto every row. The operational fix is inventory with editable descriptions, a short logistics closer you control, and queues so a manager can strip the brochure before posting.
- AI descriptions from specs, then you add a four-line logistics block. Specs will not know your Saturday hours. Put hours in the edit pass, once, correctly.
- Draft status until the pin, the rooftop, and the block agree.
- Bulk CSV and Excel import with row-level error logs. If a spreadsheet column is dumping a full brochure into description, you will see it in the import history instead of on Marketplace.
- Per-rep queues and manager assignment. Associates should not be inventing a second address. Managers can standardize the closer.
- Mobile dashboard to change "in the booth" or holiday hours without waiting for a desktop session.
- Mark as sold and archive so the address is not still collecting visits for a delivered car.
- Unlimited vehicles on Starter and Dealership, so you are not tempted to clone one mega-footer to "save time."
The Chrome extension posts one listing at a time with human-like delays and server-enforced daily limits. That pacing is a chance to keep location honest. PostToMarket is not affiliated with Meta. Accurate hours will not guarantee the listing is shown to every buyer in the radius.
Tell Them Where the Keys Are, Then Stop Talking About the Store
Adding dealership hours and address without sounding like spam means a four-line logistics block at the end, a pin that matches, hours the used-car desk can honor, and no contact stuffing. The car still comes first. The store is how they complete the visit.
PostToMarket is the system around that discipline: import, editable AI copy, team queues, and AutoPost. Independent lots use Starter at $59 per month (one login). Stores that need managers and reps use Dealership at $299 per month (up to 13 logins).
